ABOUT
Why this exists
I was a B1 learner with a subscription to an app that kept teaching me to order coffee.
What I actually needed was help with the German I was already surrounded by: a novel I couldn't finish, a news bulletin I could half follow, and the conversations I avoided because I'd stall halfway through a sentence. Streak-driven apps are built for people starting out. Past that point they run out of things to teach you.
So Arty starts from your material instead of a curriculum. It reads the book you brought, watches the video you found, and talks about the topic you picked — then tells you plainly what you got wrong. It is the tutor I wanted, written for one user and then shared.
It is a hobby project, not a company. There is no roadmap promising features to investors, and no plan that ends with the free version being taken away. When something breaks, it breaks in public and gets fixed when I have an evening.

German is the language it was built against. Other languages work, with rougher edges in the grammar lessons.
